Bringing Growth To Agriculture
About Us
At Wenzi, every great cup of coffee begins at the source. We partner directly with dedicated local farmers who cultivate the freshest beans with care, tradition, and respect for the land. By working hand-in-hand with growers, we ensure not only exceptional quality but also fair, sustainable practices that strengthen farming communities.
From fertile soils to your cup, our beans are carefully harvested and prepared for export to coffee lovers around the world. Our model is built on transparency, traceability, and long-term partnerships creating value for farmers while delivering consistently fresh, premium coffee to global markets.
At Wenzi, we don’t just deliver coffee, we share the story of our farmers, their craft, and the rich flavors of the Rwenzori region.

Our Farmers & Partnerships
The cooperative was established to bring pride and ownership to the origin of our coffee. Each farmer is registered and assigned a unique identification number that enables us to trace each batch of coffee back to the farmlands where it was grown.
In collaboration with trusted partners, our farmers are trained to carry out sustainable, organic agricultural practices which help achieve the highest quality beans. Two-thirds of our farming partners are women. Our farmers are equipped with knowledge to be self-sustaining and forward-thinking, helping them improve their overall quality of life.
The goal of our partnerships is to help provide a path to break the cycle of generational poverty, while building a future rooted in dignity and pride.
Work With us at Wenzi, we believe lasting success is built on strong partnerships. By working hand-in-hand with local farmers, we ensure a consistent supply of fresh, high-quality, and sustainably grown coffee ready for global markets. Every partnership is an opportunity to grow together—strengthening communities, creating real impact, and delivering exceptional value across the supply chain.
Fair Prices
Our partnerships are built on trust, respect, and fairness. We believe farmers deserve fair prices for the hard work and care they put into every bean, and our direct trade model makes that possible. By joining us, you help bring fresh, ethically sourced coffee to the world while ensuring farming families thrive. Together, we can share great coffee with an even greater purpose.
Why Direct Trade
At Wenzi, direct trade is at the heart of everything we do. It’s more than just a way of sourcing coffee—it’s a philosophy that ensures fairness, quality, and sustainability from farm to cup.
Unlike traditional supply chains, where coffee beans change hands multiple times before reaching the roaster, direct trade allows us to know exactly where the coffee came from, how it was produced, and who produced it. This transparency guarantees not only premium quality but also fair compensation for the farmers who make it possible.
Because our relationships prioritize quality over quantity, our farming partners are incentivized to produce coffee that is not only delicious but also environmentally friendly. Direct trade encourages them to invest in sustainable farming practices, such as organic farming and shade-grown coffee, which benefit the environment and the health of the farmers, their families, and their communities.
By working directly with farmers, we are able to pay them higher prices than they would receive from brokers. This investment strengthens local economies, creates jobs, and enables farming families to reinvest in their land and their children’s futures.
The traditional supply chain often perpetuates inequality by paying farmers low prices at the discretion of large buyers. Direct trade changes that by ensuring farmers earn a fair wage and build long-term partnerships with Wenzi based on trust and mutual respect.
Our Milling & Quality Process
At Wenzi Coffee, we are dedicated to producing specialty, premium, and conventional coffee through rigorous processing methods that uphold quality at every step.
From Farm to Processing
we work with nearly 3,000 farmers who cultivate Arabica (harvested February – April & August–November). After harvesting, the beans are carefully processed using both washed and natural techniques, then dried to prepare for milling—ensuring consistency from field to cup.
Packaging
To maintain freshness and flavour, we use durable jute, polypropylene, and advanced GrainPro bags, tailored to storage and transport needs. Each bag is precisely weighed, sealed, and labelled to guarantee quality until it reaches our customers.
Storage Facilities
In our storage facilities, we maintain controlled temperatures (15°C–25°C) and humidity (50%–60%)—the perfect conditions for preserving sensory qualities and preventing degradation.
Pest Control and Maintenance
We implement comprehensive pest control, including regular cleaning, traps and baits, and sealing entry points. Continuous monitoring ensures swift responses to protect coffee integrity.
